We believe children are the greatest heritage of any church. Psalm 127:3 tells us that "children are a gift of the Lord". We feel very strongly the need to protect, nurture and spiritually grow these precious gifts the Lord has placed in our care for this short period of time.
We value the whole child. God created each of us as an individual. Our goal is to provide for the physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual needs of each child in our care. Within that scope, we recognize God has made parents the spiritual guides for children and the privilege of leading them in spiritual matters belong to parents; we are here only to assist.
We minister to the whole family through your children! We understand that parents must feel their young ones are safe and well-cared for before they can comfortably participate and enjoy their own worship experience.
We provide a loving, safe, clean environment beginning with the very youngest child. Children will experience age-appropriate Bible stories and activities from infants through the pre-teen years in our Sunday School program. During Worship, families with elementary children are reunited for worship. Preschool children enjoy their own Children’s Worship time, while those below two years have extended care in their classrooms.
How Parents Can Help . . .
First, thank you for trusting us with your most precious possession - your child.
Second, allow enough time for you to fill out an information form and receive a security card and pager. For younger preschoolers classes have information slips that help us meet your child’s needs and schedule. Security cards are issued at the Preschool Desk located in the upper hallway, near the stairs to the Worship Center.
Finally, let us minister to your child. Even though children may cry when you leave them, we will not allow them to cry for long. We would rather page you and try again, than to have children or their parents upset.
Paging System in Place for Preschool Parents
The preschool area has a paging system for ALL preschool parents. As you leave your child for Sunday School or Worship, step over to the preschool desk and pick up a pager. Sign the pager list next to the number on your pager so we can identify which pager to call in case of an emergency. If for any reason, your child needs you, the nursery workers will enter your code into the system and your pager will give a silent signal to alert you without disturbing the rest of the congregation.
Sunday School
What gift could be better than getting your child started on the right path of life? Sunday school provides a great foundation for children to learn about God, Jesus, the Bible and the world God created around them. It is so very important that children attend regularly. Each month children learn specific concepts that they apply in their own life - helping others, obeying parents and being kind are life skills every young child needs to develop.
Preschool Worship Time
Children two years through kindergarten have their own Children’s Church with Bible lesson, pledges, snack and craft activity while parents Worship in "big" church. A nursery is provided for children under two.
Special Events
Periodically special events are planned for preschoolers and their parents. These events provide lots of fun activities for children and an opportunity for parents to get to know one another! Some special events include: Preschool Pajama Party, Stuckmeyer’s Farm Trip, Make It and Take It and the Harvest Celebration
Preparing Preschoolers for Worship
This class is designed to help parents of children entering first grade prepare their child for corporate worship. Discussion focuses on preparation, modeling and expectations.
