Deacons PDF Print E-mail

The primary responsibility of the Deacon Body is to function as servants to meet the spiritual needs of individuals in the Church and the community as co-partners with the Pastor.  At Ballwin Baptist Church, the duties of the Deacon Body are to proclaim the Gospel to believers and unbelievers by participating in witnessing activities, assisting in administering the ordinance of the Lord's Supper, and by participating in the proclamation ministry.  In addition, the deacons are called to care for the Church's members and others in the community by ministering in times of crises, providing scriptural counsel and referral, providing Christian vocational guidance, and administering the benevolance ministry of the Church.  They are also to lead the church in achieving its mission by setting a personal example of Christian living, interpreting the work of the Church to Church members and the community, being informed about the life and work of the Church through its representation on the Church Council, building and maintaining Church fellowship, and serving on designated committees as required by the bylaws.

The Deacon Body derives its ministry from and is responsible to the congregation.
