Missions
The goal of the Missions Team is to identify mission needs and opportunities, develop strategies to respond to unmet needs, and to support and strengthen established missions organizations and programs.
Ballwin Baptist uses an Acts 1:8 strategy for missions.
... and you shall be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. Acts 1:8
Our mission efforts are focused to be more effective in meeting needs at all four levels - local, state, national, and international. Our 2010 emphasis supports the following:
-
Camp Sputnik Ukrainian Camp for Children: An opportunity found through the Russian Congregation that meets within the walls. Members from Ballwin join in this mission effort every summer to travel to the Ukraine and help with things that are needed such as painting, construction, cooking, sports, working with the children, etc.
  |
Children's Christian charity camp "Sputnik" is working with the program which includes the initial introduction to Christian education. Children live in well-equpped buildings and have a cafeteria that seats 250. Classes include: painting, sculpting, skillful hands, theater, singing, and English.
Ballwin Baptist has been connected with camp Sputnik for many years with several teams visiting and working for the past several years.
